Caleb Adcock services are held Sunday

Final services for Caleb Adcock of Carlinville were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Brookshier Memorial home in this city. Mr. Adcock died at the age of 74 Friday morning at 7:45 at Macoupin County Nursing home where he had been a patient since Jan. 14.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. Leroy Aldrich of Belleville, a former pastor of Charity Baptist church, assisted by the Rev. Jim McCullen, currently pastor of the church. Presiding at the organ was Mrs. Marcella Huson who accompanied Mrs. Anna Mae Brown as she sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Good Night Here, Good Morning Up There."

Interment was in Girard cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were W. J. Brown, Lewis Brown, Gerald Hayes, Paschal Brown, Louis Schmedeke and Cletus Davis.

Caleb Alexander Adcock was born Aug. 4, 1891 in Girard, a son of William Henry and Viola Bridges Adcock. He and his wife, who survives, were married in New York City on June 30, 1923.

A retired railroad engineer, he leaves, in addition to his wife, Appalonia, [sic] one son, Earl of Carlinville and two grandchildren. Mr. Adcock was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Guy Baird Post No. 554, American Legion.
