Rites Friday for Elderly Resident Of Girard Home
Caleb Francis Adcock, 95, a resident of The Home, Girard, died at 11:40 p. m. Tuesday, at St. John's hospital. He had been a patient there for the past 5 days.
Mr. Adcock was born December 23, 1862, west of Girard, the son of Caleb and Mary J. Swift Adcock. He spent most of his life in the Girard vicinity, and resided in Virden a few years.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons, Fred and George.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Fannie M. Adcock; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. and several nieces and nephews. [sic]
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. from the Berry Funeral Home, Girard, with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery. Pall bearers are to be Arthur Adcock, Bernard Adcock, Russell Adcock, Wayne Adcock, Earl Hays, and Wiley Whitlock. Rev. Charles Eastin will officiate.
