Maybelle Harriet Hayes, 88, of [address omitted], died at 7:25 p.m. Friday (Sept. 23, 1983) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Bloomington.

Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Metzler Memorial Home, Dr. Gordon B. White officiating. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the memorial home.

She was born Jan. 20, 1895, in rural Carlinville, a daughter of Charles B. and Amy Cole Barnes. She married Orin G. Hayes Nov. 27, 1913, in St. Louis. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Lloyd W., [address omitted], Bloomington; three daughters, Melba Morehead, [address omitted], Normal; LaVonne Nelson, [address omitted], Bloomington; and Jenalee Macy, Heyworth; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, two sisters and two great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Carlinville Rural Hickory Point Southern Baptist Church and attended the Heyworth Christian Church. She was formerly a sales clerk at Roland's for 19 years.

Memorials may be made to the Heyworth ambulance service.

Before moving to Bloomington, Mrs. Hayes lived in Heyworth for 31 years.
