Obituary.

Matie England, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. England, was born in North Otter, June 10, 1877, and died two miles east of Girard, on Monday, June 26, 1899 aged 22 years and seven days. The lady grew to womanhood in her native town, and in February 1897 she was united in wedlock with Preston Gibson, and the following spring the young couple moved to a farm southeast of our city. The fruits of this union one child, a daughter, who now with her father mourn her untimely death. She was a most examplary [sic] young woman, beloved by all who knew her. Her remains were conveyed to Union Chapel, west of this city, yesterday morning, followed by a long procession of mourning friends. Rev. Watts preached a most appropriate sermon, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery adjoining the church.
