Glenn Hays, 38, Dies Suddenly At Home Today

Glenn W. Hays, 38, farmer of Everly Chapel community, died suddenly at 3 a. m. today (Thursday) at his home 7 miles west of Virden. He had been under a doctor's care.

He was born Oct. 7, 1916 in Nilwood township, the son of Lloyd and Eva Wallace Hays, and had spent his entire life in the Virden and Girard communities. He was a member of Union Chapel Baptist church and Macoupin County Farm Bureau.

He was married Sept. 27, 1942 to Jennia Mae Lynn of Virden.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters Glenna Mae and Pauline, one son Marvin, all at home; parents; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wallace, Girard; 2 sisters, Mrs. Maxine Keltner and Mrs. Emelene Huyear of Carlinville; 3 brothers, Melvin and Raymond of Girard, and Lester of Carlinville.

The body is at Berry funeral home in Girard.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the Union Chapel Baptist church, west of Girard, for Glenn W. Hays, 38, farmer of Everly Chapel community, who died suddenly at 3 a. m. Thursday at his home. He had been under a doctor's care. Rev. Calvin Kelly of White Hall officiated and burial was in Union Chapel cemetery.

Pallbearers were Homer Anspaugh, Stanley Neal, Lester Quarton, Robert Riffey, Arthur Zimmerli and Kendall Walden.
