Franklin Eugene Jennings, 60, of Carlinville died at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 1997, at Carlinville Area Hospital.
He was born October 13, 1936, in Hettick, a son of Thomas Edmund "Ed" and Viola Adcock Jennings. He married Helen Kuntzmann November 22, 1972, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Carlinville. Preceding him in death were five brothers and one sister.
Mr. Jennings worked in the warehouse at MJM Electric for 12 years. He was a member of Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412 and Carlinville Moose Club.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 7, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeanne Lischer officiating. Organist Kathryn Adams played "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden," and "Beyond the Sunset."
Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery in Girard. Pallbearers were Charles Petri, Kyle Schott, Jim Dolan, Dave Traylor, Dick Pitchford and Dudley Nichelson.
Surviving are his wife; a stepson, Jay Witt of Carlinville; two step-daughters, Joy Aeilts of Carlinville and Gay Thursby of Hettick; eight stepgrandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Jennings of Girard; four sisters, Thelma Kuntzman of Carlinville, Ilene Watkins of Virden, Maxine Pitchford of Thayer and Barbara Nichelson of Girard; and several nieces and nephews.
