Cecil L. "Zeke" PURSEY

SPRINGFIELD-- Cecil L. "Zeke" Pursey, 71, of Springfield, formerly of Carlinville, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at his home.

He was born Sept. 11, 1929, in St. Louis, the son of George and Fannie Laxton Pursey.

Mr. Pursey worked at Prairie Farms Dairy in Carlinville for several years and retired from the state of Illinois. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Carlinville Elks Lodge 1412, where he was elk of the year in 1997.

There are no survivors.

Memorial services: 5 p.m. Sunday, Carlinville Elks Lodge 1412 in Carlinville, Steve Herschelman officiating. Private burial was held Saturday in Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Carlinville.

Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.

Cecil L. "Zeke" Pursey, 71, of Springfield, formerly of Carlinville, died at 8:18 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2001, at his residence.

He was born September 11, 1929, in St. Louis, the son of George and Fannie Laxton Pursey. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Mr. Pursey served in the Army. He worked at Prairie Farms Dairy in Carlinville for several years and retired from the State of Illinois. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412, where he was Elk of the Year in 1997.

Private burial was held Saturday, July 7, in Prairie Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg McKinney, Larry Frazier, John Gunning, Paul Karr, Bud Hicks and Scott Rhoades.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412 with Elks Chaplin Steve Herschelman officiating.

Davis-Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are two nephews and a niece.

Memorials may be made to Carlinville Elks Lodge.
