Frances (ADCOCK) WHITLOCK

Mrs. Frances Whitlock, 63, of Branson, Mo., formerly of Virden, was dead on arrival at Skaggs Community hospital in Branson at 5:10 p. m. Saturday. She apparently died of a heart attack. She had moved her trailer to Branson three weeks ago, having previously lived at the G & M Trailer Court in Virden.

She was born Sept. 9, 1909 in Nilwood, the daughter of Fred and Jennie Stevenson [sic] Adcock. She was married Jan. 5, 1928 in Edwardsville to Wiley Whitlock, who preceded her in death in 1961.

Mrs. Whitlock was a member of the Virden Methodist church. She was formerly a saleslady at Virden Dept. Store.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joanita Gehrig of East Alton; two sons, William of Auburn, Calif. and Gene of Godfrey; one sister, Mrs. Florence Hays of rural Girard; one brother, William Adcock of Virden; and eight grandchildren.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Berry Funeral Home, Virden, with Rev. Ronald Webb officiating. Burial was in Virden cemetery.
