GILLESPIE--Services for Mrs. Helen Hart of Carlinville, formerly of Gillespie, were conducted Thursday, July 23, at 1 p.m. in the Maas-Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, by the Rev. Ray Ditch, pastor of First Baptist Church with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery at Girard.

Mrs. Hart, 84 last Feb. 14, died Tuesday, July 21 at 8:05 a.m. in her home, 834 Johnson Street, Carlinville.

Born in Nilwood, she was a daughter of the late Israel and Sina Ellen Hayes Adcock. [sic] Her husband, Fred D. Hart, died Sept. 29, 1970.

Surviving are four sons and four daughters, Frank D., McClure; Dale, Jerseyville; Dean, Plainview; Carol, Mrs. Bunnie Davis, Mrs. Irma Lee Hammann, Mrs. Becky Mabus, all of Carlinville and Mrs. Doris Meng, Greenfield; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Jenkins [sic] of Carlinville.

Mrs. Helen Hart of Carlinville, the widow of Fred D. Hart died at 8:05 Tuesday morning of last week at her home on Johnson street. She was 84.

Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Maas-Kravanya funeral home in Gillespie with the Rev. Ray Ditch officiating. Interment was in Union Chapel cemetery at Girard. Grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Jay Meng, Dennie Davis, Ed Hammann, Chris Mabus, Jeff Hart, Randy Hart and Terry Dale Hart.

Mrs. Hart was born February 14, 1897 in Nilwood, a daughter of Israel and Sina Ellen Hayes Adcock. [sic] Her husband preceded her in death on September 29, 1970.

She leaves four sons, Frank D. Hart of McClure, Dale of Jerseyville, Dean of Plainview and Carl of Carlinville; four daughters, Doris Meng of Greenfield, Bonnie Davis, Irma Lee Hammann and Becky Mabus, all of Carlinville; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Jenkins [sic] of Carlinville.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Homer and Kenneth Hart and a grand-daughter, Sandra Ellen Davis.
