Israel (Doc) Adcock, 84, of Nilwood, died at 2 a.m. Sunday in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Mr. Adcock was born west of Girard, March 20, 1860, and resided in that community all of his life. His wife, the former Sena Harris [see notes], died in 1942, and he had been a resident of Nilwood the last four years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Helen Hart of Gillespie, Mrs. Myrtle Jenkins [sic] of Atwater, and Mrs. Bessie Pettis [sic] of Girard; one sister, Mrs. Alice Jennings of Virden, and a brother, Frank of Nilwood. Twenty-two grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral was held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Union Temple church, Nilwood, Rev. F. L. Crouch of Carlinville officiating. Burial was in Union Temple cemetery [see notes].
