Archie T. AMBROSE

Archie T. Ambrose, 66, of Chesterfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Carlinville Area Hospital.

The decedent was born Aug. 11, 1899 at Hagaman, the son of the late Charles Newton and Dora Stottler Ambrose.

Ambrose is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Joyce Caton, Blue Mound; Miss Shirley Ambrose, of Decatur; Miss Betty Jo Ambrose, Chesterfield; one son, Chas. Thomas, Chesterfield; five sisters, Mrs. Odesa Joiner, Mrs. Geraldine Meredith, Carlinville; Mrs. Temple Rainey, White Hall; Mrs. Isola Wade, Mrs. Imogene Bloomfield, Pueblo, Colo.; one brother, Elwyn Ambrose, White Hall; 4 grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Wiese-Anderson Funeral Home, this city, where funeral services were conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. Rev Wm. T. Jenkins, pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiated. Mrs. Lela Mae Costello and Mrs. Barbara Ford sang "Rock of Ages" and "In the Garden" with Mellnotte Sanders at the organ. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernest, Vernon, and Wayne Joiner, Wayman Meredith, Ed Rainey, and Riley Meredith.
