Erma (BETTIS) ANDERSON

GIRARD-- Erma Bettis Anderson, 91, of Girard, formerly of Modesto, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard.

She was born June 12, 1909, in Macoupin County, the daughter of Clarence and Estella Crawford Bettis. She married Curtman Angelo in 1927; he preceded her in death. She married Wilbur Anderson in 1968 in Taylorville.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and a foster parent.

Survivors: husband, Wilbur; a son, Dwayne Angelo of California City, Calif.; two stepsons, Barry (wife, Kay) Anderson of New Holland and Gary (wife, Barbara) Anderson of Pekin; two daughters, Ferla Pratt of Springfield and Wanda Clark of Standard City; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne (wife, June) Bettis of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Paul Bettis of Springfield; a sister, Irene Smith of Virden; several nieces, nephews and cousins; an aunt; and an uncle.

Memorial services: 6 p.m. Sunday, Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, the Rev. Stanley W. Searcy Jr. officiating. Private burial of ashes will be held at a later date at Union Chapel Cemetery in Girard.
