Delos H. ENGLAND

Delos H. England, 85, of Alton died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 1996, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was the brother of Jean Franz of Carlinville.

He was born in Carlinville on February 6, 1911, the son of Frederick and Ora Jenkins England. He married Mildred Branson in Carlinville on November 28, 1935. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald England and James England; an infant sister, Shirley England and a sister, Geraldine Boyle.

Mr. England retired in 1976 after 35 years as the waterworks superintendent at Olin Corporation in East Alton.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with the Rev. H. Todd Taylor officiating. Burial was in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

In addition to his sister of Carlinville, surviving are his wife and two sisters, Pauline Lagemann of Godfrey and Betty Campion of Alton.
