Mrs. Ella Smith who died Sunday afternoon at her home in Girard, was born here and spent most of her life in this township. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Hays. She was first married to W. H. Jenkins. Some years after his death, she was married to Edw. Smith. She was around 70 years of age. Funeral services have not been announced as this is written, but the interment will be in the Cherry cemetery by the side of her former husband. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Della Conlee, Girard; Mrs. Geo. Lomelino, Mrs. Jas. Hammer and Mrs. Arthur Hammonds; one brother Steward [sic] Hays, one sister Mrs. J. W. Goode of North Otter.
The funeral services for Mrs. Ella Smith whose death we made mention of last week, were held at their house in Girard Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Francis of St. Louis. Interment here in the family lot in Cherry cemetery. A large crowd attended the services.
