Dr. Ivan M. Hays, 48, of Girard, died at 4 p. m. Tuesday at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. He entered the hospital Monday for medical treatment. For the last eight years, he had been practicing as a veterinary in Girard. Samuel Hays, his father, preceded him in death last May.
Decedent was born Oct. 21, 1896 in Girard, the son of Samuel and Mannie [sic] Hays. Besides his wife, Helen, he is survied [sic] by his mother, Mrs. Mannie [sic] Hays; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Foster; and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. today (Thursday) in Union Chapel church in Girard. Rev. E. A. McFarland will officiate assisted by Rev. D. C. Byus. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery.
