Rites here Monday for brother of local folk

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Presbyterian church in Affton, Mo. for Carl Pursey, 65, brother of Jacob R. and Wesley Pursey and Mrs. Lillie Yowell, all of Carlinville. Mr. Pursey died of a heart attack in the office of his physician last Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks cemetery.

Decedent was a veteran of World War I and held the Purple Heart and Gold Star [sic, should be Silver Star] awards for services rendered beyond the line of duty.

Besides his brothers and sister of this city, he leaves one other brother, Theodore of Oakland, Calif. and two other sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Sembel of Springfield and Mrs. Mildred Wills of Hillsboro, besides his wife, one daughter and three grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death, Edward in 1959 and Charles Earl in 1958.
