Mrs. Samuel England who passed away Saturday at their home in Girard, was brought to Union Chapel on Monday where funeral services were held at 11 a. m., conducted by Rev. O. T. Thomas, and interment was made in the first addition to the cemetery. Her maiden name was Swift and she was born in Marion county but came here in early life where she grew into womanhood and was married to Samuel England of this township in the year 1870 and spent most of her life in this community. She was a member of the M. E. church of Union Chapel. She leaves her husband, three sons--Chas. and Harry of Girard; Allison of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Fred Wilson of Virden; several grandchildren; one half-brother, M. G. Adcock; a half-sister, Mrs. G. F. England, both of North Otter. Aunt Ellen was well liked by all who formed her acquaintance.
