DEATH OF MRS. W. H. RHODES.

Mrs. Rhodes, wife of W. H. Rhodes, died of heart trouble at her home near Macoupin Station at 4:30 o'clock Thursday morning.

Her death was very sudden, having but the day before returned with her daughter from a pleasant visit in Madison county. She had slept well during the night and but fifteen minute [sic] before her death, spoke to her husband and said she had slept well. While her death was very sudden it was not unexpected, as she had suffered for years with heart trouble and was under the care of a physician much of the time.

Mrs. Rhodes was 58 years of age.

Her maiden name was Laura Ambrose, and she was born and raised near Plainview, where she had hosts of friends.

She is survived by her husband and five children, namely: Silas Rhodes of this city, Mrs. Annie E. Gugger of Bunker Hill, George C., Joseph A., and Daisy Rhodes who live at home.

Mrs. Rhodes was a Presbyterian in faith, and the funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at Liberty church. The interment will be in the Baird cemetery.
