Marlin Jennings, 57, of R.R. 3, Auburn, formerly of Girard, died at 12:47 a.m. Sunday, June 30 at St. John's hospital, Springfield.
He was born March 6, 1928 in Carlinville, the son of Thomas Edmond and Viola Adcock Jennings, and married Dirley Mae Christian March 6, 1950 in Standard City.
Mr. Jennings was a retired self-employed contractor-carpenter. He was a member of Grace Southern Baptist church, Virden and the Elks Club, Carlinville.
Survivors are his wife, Mae; four daughters, Mrs. Norman (Twila) Horrighs of Troy, N.C., Mrs. Thomas (Robin) Ford of Ft. Worth, Tex., Roxane Jennings of Girard, Mrs. John (Penny) Chesher of Denver, Colo.; one son, Kent Jennings of Waverly; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Kuntzman of Carlinville, Mrs. Eileen Watkins and Mrs. Maxine Pitchford of Thayer; Mrs. Barbara Nichelson of Girard; two brothers, Lloyd Jennings of Girard, and Frank Jennings of Carlinville; several nieces and nephews; aunts, Mrs. Florence Swift of Virden, Mrs. Merida Simms of Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with 1 p.m. services Thursday at Shane-Sikorski Funeral Home, Girard. Rev. Don Whalen will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery.
