Mrs. Evelyn Frey, 65, of Girard died Wednesday in Lake Wales, Fla., from injuries she received in an automobile accident.
Mrs. Frey was born June 25, 1921, near Girard, the daughter of Otto and Bessie Adcock Bettis. A lifelong resident of Girard, Mrs. Frey was married to Bill Frey in 1939 at St. Charles, Mo.
She was a member of the Macoupin County Historical Society and Macoupin County Homemakers Extension.
Surviving are her husband, Bill; one daughter, Mrs. James (Sherry) Whalen of Farmersville; three sons, Roger of Canton, Rick of Sherman and Rodney Sr. of Girard; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Velma Schoppe of Nilwood; and three brothers, Jesse, Eldon and Frank Bettis, all of Girard.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Berry Funeral Home, Girard. Burial will be in the Girard cemetery.
